Sometimes, I wish I could go back to the first time I picked up a basketball. I was in the third grade and mostly playing because of my older siblings. Being the fourth out of five kids, I looked up to my older siblings love for the game. The culture they were surrounded by, I thrived for. They gave me a competitive sense for the game and never went easy on me. My family is the reason of who I am today. My goal is to take the next step in my athletic and academic career. As a player, I bring energy and passion so that my team and I can work together to reach our goals. I want to be a part of a culture that inspires and encourages each other to celebrate our successes and take pride in what we accomplish as a team. If I could choose one word to describe me, it would be grit. Grit is the extra effort I put on the court, in the classroom, and as a teammate. Lastly, in the long run, I hope to receive a great education, along with an opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.
